A Ghost Town in the Great Smoky Mountains
I closed my eyes and imagined what it must have been like in the good ole days. I could almost smell the barbeque and see the children playing as I walked through “ Millionaires Row”. Affectionately dubbed that for the cabins built along the Little River by Knoxville socialites starting back in the early 1900s.
There was even a lodge out there at one time. The Wonderland Hotel was the only lodge ever built in the park. Not much remains but a staircase and a plaque. The only thing left of these summer retreats is the shell of what used to be beautiful homes in a wonderful location. This place used to have thousands of visitors at any given time.
